Street Ported Engine

Ok, now before everyone starts flaming about "WHY DONT YOU SEARCH" just read my question. I did search but i'm probablly just too lazy to navigate through the whole entire site to find my answer so i figured i'd just ask it here and get a simple answer.

Ok so my 91 NA has a street, you know, nothing big or fast or anything. My question is can anyone just put up a few numbers pertaining to horsepower that i might be running. That is, even though i'm running an N/A i dont think it could be too high and i havent had the time or money to get my car dynoed so you guys are my experts so i figured i'd ask you. Anyway thx for the replies as always.

NOTE: Anyone saying something such as "SEARCH THE FORUMS YOU DUMB ****" will be disregarded.

if your running a street ported 13b s5 wich have the better compression ratio rotors you should be in the 180-195 rang maybe but u have alot of factors like what fuel u are running if your running lean or rich do u have a new o2 sensor cause if its old it could be giving the wrong info to ur computer wich equals less ponies and a decent tun up couldnt hurt u either now with all these i hope i anwsered your question

180-195 at the crank, if your car is in good shape. nothing like that at the wheels though.

depends who did the port, you could be losing hp you could be making a few. Go to a dyno were not magicians.

o2 sensor will not affect HP.

Make sure your 6-ports are working correctly; get your fuel injectors cleaned; run brand name fuels (not arco, am-pm, plaid pantry, etc..); High flow exhaust; and you would be pushing 180's-190's if your car has good compression.

Probably like 680 at the wheels and like 1020 lbs/tq. If you put a GReddy sticker on it it will give you like100 more horsepowers.

Yep, the ECU doesn't even read the o2 sensor at any RPM you would want HP at.

LOLOL REted......hahahaha yea i was feeling really crappy when i wrote this thread, not to aim that at anyone in particular.

idsigloo i have looked around my area for dynos there are a few but they cost money that i dont have and most of them are full of honda *** holes that look at me funny. As you can see in my sig i'm "rockin a blown engine" so i have to save the money i have to get a new engine. On top of that there would be no point in dynoing it now cuz it wouldnt be worth it, i was just wondering if and when i get a new engine should i street port it or not.

And yes my psychic dyno is telling me i'm running like 130 horsepower cuz my engine is all messed up and slow now.......heh

Thx guys
Ant

There is no downside to streetporting a motor (mpg?) so you should do it. And as long as your guessing hp numbers you're known as a bench racer. FYI.

Are you saying a streetported engine doesn't burn any more fuel than a stock engine?

To make more power with a streetport, you let more air in... Unless you are running REALLY lean all the time... then you are injecting more fuel... more fuel = lower MPG.

22mpg? I'm still calling BS.. Maybe in 5th gear on the highway... but definitely not city or NORMAL highway driving. Also, pics of your ports.. I'm tempted to say your ports aren't as "large" as you say they are.

Trying not to be a dick. but 22 is a big number...

You know, standalones can do wonderful things... I can tool around all day with my car and log over 24 MPG. Not saying he is on a standalone, but you might want to consider all the factors before you make those sorts of statements.

THAT's something you should search about. It is discussed profusely on the forumas and should only take you about a minute to find out why it is a resounding yes.
