street port na power output not right.
I have an 87 na street ported motor with intake and full exhust yet the power out put to the rear wheels is less than stock.
124rwhp

power output should be more than that i would think. whats the deal here. need ideas on whats wrong.

1.3L is not that small
hope you did that to the motor youself or had somebody you trust do it.... otherwise if you bought it streetported it might have been a scam..... otherwise check the compression and your 5th and 6th ports.... does the car run well? timing set correctly? any hesitation

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
What kind of streetport? If it's just a small streetport those numbers could be *decent* depending on how many miles are on the engine.
I would guess either: a) you got screwed and it's not ported, b) your 5/6th ports aren't opening (does it have S4 intake manifolds or S5, with S5 the VDI might not be working), or c) your engine needs a compression check.

The motor was rebuilt by atkins rotary and installed by a rotary mechnic here in town. the 5th and 6th are working as i can see them move when reving. One thing that i thought i could be is that I have a falty injector or all injector are drity or cloged. Because it idles rough and the highest i can get the idle to go is 900 rpms with the screw almost all the way out. maybe I just do have enough fuel period.

could be not broken in yet....... but first, are you comparing your 124 wheel horspower to the 146 flywheel horse power stock?
If so then there is your problem. ....... (you dont have a problem.)

It has a little over 15000 mile on the engine so it broken in. I just changed the spark plug and it helped but not alot. They looked like they needed to be anyways. I don't think the guy who installed my engine checked to see if the injector were ok. But as far as i know they are the orginals. Yes its a N/A. I'll do compression check later and update

Update compression test done and results are 55 to 60psi in front chamber and 60 to 65 in rear all are consistent . Don't know weather this is good or bad. Answer pleases

Those are not good #s
"115+ is like new, 100-115 is healthy, 90-100 is getting weak(1 year or less in most cases) below 90 could blow at any moment."

Are you sure you did the comp check right?

I did it with a normal compression checker(autozone) and followed the instrutions in the hanes book. The book tells me to use the top plug hole and the website you gave me tell me to use the bottom plug hole. I'll try the bottom plug holes tomorrow and check back with results.

Lives on the Forum
Did you prop the throttle when doing the compression test?
Did you take out both trailing (top) spark plugs?
Did the battery have top charge?

if you folwd the instructions and got those numbers there is something wrong i have an autozone tester and my results are 120 on each rotor 15000 miles when did these problem start. there is no way you have been driving that car for so long in that condition.
