I did not check the oil control spring when I rebuilt my engine and think that it is a little weak.

Also how can oil become gas saturated in a rotary? Any input? I am still learning about rotaries.
sounds to me like you are just running too thin of oil...try changing it to 20/50 and see what happens

oil becomes gas saturated in a rotary when the fuel leaks past the oil control rings into the engine. it doesnt really take much fuel to screw up your oil...

I thought the oil was too thin also but it has always been 20w50 and is fresh. I need to check the length of the oil control spring, I guess.
I was thinking "blow-by" to be caused by combustion. You are talking about a severely flooded engine to get raw gas past oil control rings, correct? Thanks for the info.

You can check the spring lenth man but I checked mine...it was bad.....replaced it and the problem still existed. Since you dont have jet mods it may save the day but I lost all optimism up to that point.

better be careful with the muffler bearing statements. BMW actually does have a manufacturer to build the muffler (exhaust) bearings.

and my oil level is fubared at idle. it drops real lowand my car starts to smoke (burning ol smell). not good.
