Strange throttle response at startup, only sometimes
When I go to start up my '87 TII I usually try to give it some gas once it's started since it isn't idling right yet. The trouble is that sometimes the throttle is completely dead, but I've figured out that I can usually get it to respond by pumping the gas pedal a little, sometimes more than other times. It's very inconsistent and sometimes when this occurs I have to try a couple times to keep it started because the throttle doesn't respond enough. Usually once it's up to ~2000+ RPM's the throttle responds fine from then on, even if the idle goes so low as to nearly kill it. Grounding issue? Something else? I've tested my TPS and used the LED method as well, it's definitely helped light throttle response. I do know I need to work on my grounds, but I really can't be sure if that's why it acts this way.

Do you have the thermowax still on the back of the TB? If not, you need to find a way, I think on the back of the TB, atleast on a n/a, there is a small bolt that you need to replace with a longer one to keep the primary plate open a small amount to help with idle. The amount has to be measured and then set the TPS when the plate is set.
