I finally got the rebuild done and now I try to crank the motor over to prime the oil but when I do the starter sounds like an impact gun. I pulled the bottom access plate and it looks like the starter is barely catching the teeth of the flywheel and kicking off. Sometimes it wont even catch the teeth and just click. Guys have any idea? Thank you!

 

the starter solenoid is going dead.

Try smaking it (tap it rather) and crank at the same time, if it turns, its definitly the solenoid on the starter.
