Strange Spark Issues....
Okay I am working on an T2 and need some help. It was running just fine for about four days and all of a sudden the spark dies out. It runs off a microtech LT-8 and is tuned and working just fine according to the hand controller and the fact that i can get it to start sometimes. When it died the rpms started slowly dying at idle dropping from 1180 (normal) to 1000 then 950 then 750 then a small pop and then nothing. I checked for compression....good. I checked for fuel....good. I check for spark....none. I changed the coils and got a little spark on the leading plugs. I fired it up and it was reluctant at first. It warmed up....idled good and ran though the rpms fine. Drove fine after that. Turned it off and now the same problem.....lack of spark or it is spurratic. Now the last time it was on I was tightening the leading coil pack mounts and the rpms starting dropping like it was grounding out. As soon as I backed the nuts off the coil mounts the car was normal again. Now all I can think of is maybe the plugs got fouled but they will still spark fromtime to time.
Also the clip that snaps into the alt (2 prong) is only wired up using the bottom wire. What is the top wire for?

Well you see you don't get spark at the plugs. Trace it back through the ignition system and see where you are losing power.
See if you get spark at the coil if you remove the wire and just use a spark tester (plug), check for voltage to coil, etc.
Keep going back till you find what isn't getting voltage.
You may have signal issues, but make sure your components are getting voltage first.
