Strange sound of something snapping under WOT (and boost)

Lately I've been driving around and at WOT when boost comes on, I get this *snap* sound somewhere in front of me. It keeps happening every once in a while. I used to think I was kicking up some rocks, but it sounds the same every time. Any guesses as to what I should check first? I've also never heard detonation or knock before so what's that sound like?

My S5 T2 is pretty stock. Still has cat, I have a catback and apexi power intake. That's all.

In any case, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Dave

is it just the sound or is performance affected when it happens?

I think it's just the sound...I'm not completely sure. But I know if I keep going it keeps boosting and all.

could only be one of two things, or even both...

1. A sonic boom, from when you hit full boost and break the sound barrier.

2. Your neck cracking from the awesome power and torque TII's deliver.

the only thing I could think of is the old plastic in your car breaking when you floor it or a loose cluster or something loose (maybe your washer fluid lines are hitting the inter cooler) other than that Can't really think of anything else

Though it's like a plastic sound of some sort...kind of a dull snap, no metallic sound
