strange oil pressure issue
well im been having this for a long time but i just wanna fix it because is started to bug me
before i swaped my engine and even now with a rebuild engine i have oil pressure drop in idle. like it will be a steady 25-30 at 1k rpm and if you leave the car idle for a couple of min sometime 5 min it will drop from 25 psi to like 15 or even 10 psi. i was wondering if it is the oil cooler or it someting else? sometime it does it at 3k drops from 55 psi to like 45 but not often. im just wondering if anybody have this problem before and if it is an oil cooler problem thanks

Did you check the casting for the O-ring behind the front cover?

I ended up having on hell of an oil pressure problem similar to your symptoms. I did thid o-ring removal twice and replaced just about everything besides oil cooler and E-Shaft Jets. Come to find out that previous owner did oil jet mods.

im pretty sure the o ring is like it on the mazdatrix web and like i said i triple check that the o ring was in place and it was so im sure is not the o ring it have to be something else
and BTW my pressure only drops when it idles for a long period of time. not when it goes down the road. if i rev it it will go to max of 80 psi and 3500rpm is at 60-65
