Strange Dying Out Problem
Hello Everyone,
This post is regarding my '91 Rx7 Vert.
I know what usually happens to one Rx-7 eventually happens to them all so I am hoping someone can lead me in the right direction.
Now that it is getting very hot here in Texas I am using my A/C more and more. I am having problems with the car dying out when I come to a stop sign or red light (or have to stop, period).. I notice if I hurry up and cut the a/c off it will not die.
Now, when I have the car sitting in the driveway running with the A/C on it does not die out... BUT, as soon as I hit the brake pedal the rpm's start to quiver and drop and the car dies out.
So, I believe the dying out has something to do with depressing the brake pedal while the A/C running. If I turn the A/C off and depress the pedal the car does not die out.
What in the world kind of problem is this? It is driving me nuts.. Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated.
Take care,
Draneb

Draneb,
Can't remember offhand the exact fix (I left the repair manuals at home), but I'm assuming the electrical load by depressing the brakepeddle that finally does it in.
My 89 vert won't stall, but turing on the AC when ideling deffinitly freeks the rpms for a second.
The car is "suppose" to have a system to bump up the idle before the compressor kicks in. Remember the compressor is belt driven and obviously will tax the engine's HP because of it.
Try doing a search on this site for "AC" or "A/C" or "air conditioning."
