Heres the deal. The last two days when ive been driving my 87 tII hesitats for a second. THe tach drops lights dim like its about to turn off completly bus comes bac to life. It does this in any gear but first at any given speed. Tonight i got to get in the car and put the key in turn it to the on position everything lights up like it is supposed too, when i turn the key to the accessory every thing turn off. Not a shread of power anywhere. I take a test light to see if there was juice in the battery before i checked the fuse, and as soon as i touched the light to both the pos. and neg. cable the inside lights come on. (i had left door open). I get in car to start it and it shuts off again. Touch the light to the battery again and on comes the light. THis time the car started right up. Drove the 25 miles home with no problems. What do u guys think is wrong. ANything would be help full before i try and figure it out.

 

Check all the ground straps (engine to chassis, battery to engine) for loose connections or hidden corrosion. Pull & clean the battery connectors..

 

ya it sounds like you have an open circut developing. check all the grounds first starting at the neg. post and working back try to get the wiring diagram it will help if you can read one.
