Strange coolant leak

Ok, so I just got my rex outta the shop and shes driving nicely..... then two days later I'm riding her pretty hard, and then coolant starts spraying from the hood. (AHHHHH!!!!!!) I checked the fan, thermostat, then checked the most obvious suspect, and sure enough the radiator was dry dry dry. Ok.... I know, I should've been watching the temp guage (stock). So I filled it up with coolant, and sure enough it's got a leak. Not one of the hoses, but further down the line from the lower hose..... behind the pulleys...... tell me I didn't crack the block!!!!!

the water pump is probably leaking from the weep hole and running down the crank pulley *** well as the pump housing onto the lower hose. pressure test that bitch. or clean it up. start it and observe for leaks. if your still running a clutch fan dont get scalped by it with car running.

=not cool

It may be the failure hole on the pump. The water pump has a small hole on it that will leak when the pump is failing. look right underneath the water pump pulley. There may be a trail of dried up/burned off coolant coming from it.

Ok, I filled it back up with coolant again.... this time the leak has stopped. I'll check the water pump in the morning, but it didn't overheat this time and i ran it for twenty minutes. A buddy of mine said the water pump may be failing as well... hope those aren't too expensive. $100 - 200$? I'll look it up, thx

waterpump 50-75 bucks you should also check the coolant lines under the manifold. Look for a brown area a sign of coolant leak.

i had that strange coolent leak too.. i check all my connection and its all good...its not leaking from the hoses so i guessing mine is leaking from the water pump or the water pump housing..im not sure but im still looking... strange tho i cant seem to find where the leak is but i saw coolent on the bottom of the front cover on the engine..where the main pully is at on the side where the omp is at..i saw coolent around there on mine but i cant seem to find out exactly where it is leaking.

yea, aka the "weep hole"

when the o-ring goes in the pump it leaks out this hole.
