I have never done a welding job, but If you have acess to a welder it could be done cheaper than a exaust shop would. If not just don't tell them its a cat replacment pipe.

Just find the length of the cat, get some flanges that match and have them weld a pipe to the flanges. Get some gaskets and its a bolt in affair. Then when inspections come around, just swap em back!

I am doing this during X-Mas break! I checked at a muffler shop where I am in cool w/ the owner (I bought my 7 from him!!) He said no self-respecting shop would do a job like this b/c it is real illegal. However, he would do it if I drove in w/ the cat and left w/ it in place. Just tell the shop that is how you want it done and that it is for SCCA Auto-cross or some other lie. Good luck!
