I have an amp in my driver's side bin... I didn't put it there, and I can't really tell the difference it makes in audio, since it's only powering the rear speakers (one of them is blown I think), and it takes up the whole damn bin, since it's mounted on a board that's way too high up...

I suppose it would be better if it it was just powering a single subwoofer instead of two tweeters, but I don't have a sub, don't need one, and can't afford one, either.

Personally I prefer to use the storage bins for...storage :P

 

I keep my amp in bin, been there for two years. Haven't had a problem with it...

yes, I do. that's why I have a rotary powered car. If 30 popunds slows your track time by .03 seconds then boo hoo. I guess that means you'll cripple yourself to driving around town without music. We all love the sound of a good rotary, but seeing as how alot of these are daily driver's, music is a good change every now and then.

 

make some at home and sell them on this site. every 7 owner can use money. Get them from parts cars and junkyards (old bin covers)

 

As with most fc products, im sure it woudl cost me more to make than anyone would be willing to pay. plus im not really interested in all that audio and showy ****. I just got a cd player and stock setup, would rather spend my money on the engine.

 

yeah, well you had the idea down, but uless there's an old FC recycling plant next to your house, that would be costly. I have a completely stock TII and I have no idea where I should start, engine, or chassis supension brakes etc.

(gets a tuneup and servicing friday)

 

Dont mean to hijack. I got a basic set up. 1 12" sub, w/ a 500watt amp; nothing else... no capaciter. Ok,well the setup,being basic, worked ok (well at least ok for me...how much bass do you need in a rx7) in my last rex. But in this one, everytime I try and turn the amperage up I get alot of feed back. It sounds like the sub is just going crazy and is constantly humming and when the music starts it hits continuously. Like whom, whom, whom, whom in the backround while the music is playing. I check all of my connections. My friend said that it could be because I'm not running a big enough ground wire for my amp and others told me its because I dont have a capacitor and thats just a variance in voltage affecting the sound. Which is right, or are they both right. Thanks, because I try, but I suck with electronics.

 

i have an amp right behing the drvier seat and the wall right before the hatch space. and imo i think subs would be better in the way back. dont 7s have woofers in the door speakers?

the sexy BRAAAAAAAP of even just my N/A beater is music to MY ears....and the TII, well its just nut busting sexifiedly sounding....

hehe - plus Ill bet even with the loudest system in a 7 around here its still not as loud as a spooled turbo, screeching tires and 7,500rpm - hehe

And I am sure if you just drop a sub into the bins without a box for them to be enclosed in then YES it would sound like ***... its a plastic bin which would do nothing but rattle... Thats why you use 3/4 MDF for enclosure....

Jeffforsale obviously has no idea how bass works and the whole point of a system hidden and enclosed is for you to hear not for everyone around you to know you have and want to steal from you...

I had 2 1000watt amps 1 500 watt amp a tripple capaciter (sp) and and extra battery hidden nicely in the spare tire compartment...never over heated

bought a 7 w/ a amp in the passenger side bin, i get no bass, thinkin about getting a sub.

 

I did away with the bins.

 

I have amps in both of mine. They are fine in winter, but on hot summer days they get a little hot for my liking. I drilled a small hole in the guide metle and it holds them up about an inch for air flow. This is only when i really have the power up though.
