Storage bin battery relocation?

Putting my battery in the storage bin. Already got the ground sorted and a big keyed shut off installed. Was wondering, for the positive, do you guys run a second wire from the battery to the fuse block? Or do you tap off the starter lead? Ive seen it both ways from the factory, but more often than not, the 2nd wire is run from the battery to the main junction point. The only car I can think of in recent memory that tapped off the starter positive was the Fiat X1/9 Bertone I worked on.

Also I assume that should be sufficient for wiring? car isn't available to look at right now. I assume theres one lead to the starter, one to the fuse block, and one from the alternator? I know on these newer cars they have a quarter million off shoots coming from the main posi wire sometimes.

When I did mine, I did a large gauge from battery to starter via a distribution block and a slightly smaller gauge to the main fuse. That mirrors the stock setup.

the circuit breaker is nice under the hood though.

that is a good point. no idea there, but the point was that Ted is funny. Pauls FD had a battery in the trunk, but he left al the stuff in the front and then forgot, so he ended up with 2 batteries, like an RV!
