Stock Turbo Part Jpg

Does this bellhousing shaped item come off the rear part of the middle section of the Turbo itself?

This is a stock turbo with the snails removed and turbine and compressor wheels removed.

Does this bell shaped housing tap off, say with a light hammer blow?

Probably not. See the casting mark on the *bell* and how it aligns with the casting mark to the right of it? Probably the whole thing is one casiting.

Turbo rebuild kits can be had from Trubo City for a hundred to hundred thirty bucks I believe.

I'm not rebuilding this one. Just trying to find out why it went bad. It's a hybrid that smoked.
