yesterday i was doing alittle spirited driving and instead of droping back down to idle it stayed at about 3 grand. the throttle seemed to be sticking. so i put some lub on it and it seems to work alittle. should i replace this or what?

Never lube the TB. It's attracts dirt and dust, which turns to gunk and causes the linkage to bind, resulting in the problem you're trying to cure.

Does the TB open and close smoothly when you operate it by hand? Disconnect the throttle cable from the TB and make sure it moves smoothly in it's sleeve.

Only if the cable has been incorrectly reinstalled. A correctly adjusted cable will have 1-2mm of slack, just like the accelerator cable. I hope you didn't pull it out just because of that...
