Stock tach/aftermarket coils

I'm going to be running aem smart coils on a haltech elite 1500..someone told me the stock tach isn't going to work when not using the factory coils..this true? If so what needs to be done to supply the stock tach with a signal...ive searched but only found threads talking about how to set up a aftermarket tach with stock coils...

Thanks

that someone is an idiot, the haltech supplies the signal to the tach, not the coils so it will work fine as long as you set up the output correctly.

Tha haltech will supply the signal and the wire at the trailing coil needs to be fed that signal for the Tach.It is a single Bullet connector.
