Push down the lock from the inside, you'll hear a beep, then close the door while holding the handle up and it will be activated. To get back in, just turn the key.

Sometimes it'll go off randomly. The door switch might be bad, so you can always just unlock the hatch with the key. That's how I used to shut mine off, before I got tired of it and just removed the computer for it.

I think it's held by 3 screws, but it's inside a cover that's held by 5. If you've got a small Phillips screwdriver (a stubby) you can do this in like 5 minutes.
It's that panel you have to remove to change your passenger side front speaker. It's the little box on the left with the wires coming out that are wrapped in black stuff. I'll post the numbers on the computer in just a sec.

I'd say it's a 2x4 silver box with three screws, mounted at some wicked angle.
Mine says 8J21 in black, and FB67 67 790 is relieved into the box, also says IMASEN JAPAN on it.
Just remove that panel, unscrew the screws holding the control unit, unplug it, and place it in that bin of stuff that will go with the car if you ever sell it.
