Question Stock Gen 2 Turbocharger Question????

I was wondering what the turbo designation was (ex. Garrett T-3) for the stock turbo for the gen 2? Is it possible to buy one with no shaft play (seals dont matter when it comes to condition)? If so, how much would they run? Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have any ideas on a small turbo that is good for a custom project? Preferable used. Off of a car instead off of the shelf is also something we are looking for. Thanks.

Most are too small. Just upgrade yours.

the reliability of the turbos is pretty good i think. the 87-88 turbines boost creep a lil bit, but porting the wastgate helps. the 89-91 turbo has an improved wastegate and is a little more efficient so its a good improvement if you have an 87 or 88 T2. the aftermarket upgraded turbos are mostly T04s and such. but big turbos are no problem for RX-7s. just remember that the fuel must be upgraded to handle any more boost than stock.

The custom project is not for an RX7. I do not have an RX7 turbocharger. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any small reliable turbos that are out there.
