stock gauges with microtech

i did a search and not much came up..

when removing the stock harness, to replace with the lt8, what needs to be retained to keep dash lighting, and the temp/oil/fuel/volt meters functioning properly... do these need the ecu or is the system standalone?

the only thing you need to do is run 1 wire for the coolant temp guage, as its in the engine harness

Simple, don't take out the the drivers side harness, and make provisions for wiring the stock drivers side harness to the boost and water temp sensors for the gauges.

Everything else works fine without even touching it. I'll say it one last time, DON'T TAKE OUT THE DRIVERS SIDE HARNESS, YOU'LL ENTER A WORLD OF PAIN.

Buried underneath the trailing coil and all the other accessories, you can't see it...

gotcha.. seems like keeping a whole harness for 2 wires is silly, but i understand what youre saying.

No, **** no man, we got a little misunderstood.

The driver side harness stays in. The engine harness can be removed. With the engine harness out, you have to remove the sub-harnesses for the windshield wipers and cruise control from the engine harness. Since their are now no wires going from the old engine harness to the drivers side harness (at the ecu) you'd have to run a few wires with the new provided harness should you choose to use the factory gauges.

Wish you told the previous owner of my TII that. Ahh...what a mess he made down there with the Microtech install.
