Stock CD player

So i was going through my owners manual the other day and found out that the FC had the option of a CD player!! (NO WAYZ!) So all you fc stock cd player owners out there, here are some questions:

1.Can it play mp3?

2.Also are they bad about skipping?

3. If you have a tape deck/radio can you just pull it out and do a direct swap for the oem cd player?

btw this an 87 FC SE model

I use mine. It doesn't skip that bad. I play burnt cds in it all the time. Use good quality cds (sony).

I use mp3s and burn them as audio cds with Nero 7. Like I said. Use good cds (blank sonys). When I 1st drove my FC, the guy had some of his music from his band playing in the cd player. As for the adapters, idk. Why would they be different? Mine is a 88 though. Besides that, there's 2 different cd players for the FC. There's the S4 style and the S5 style. Mine's S4.

I have the stock cassette + CD player on my S5 TII and it does play burned CD's. It will skip over large bumps, but the trick is burning the CD at the lowest speed possible. I have found that this reduces the skip rate on my player tremendously.
