Does anyone know if you can use a S5 airbox for my S4?

Thanks,

the simple answer is no

S4 has rectangle outlet to mass flow censor where S5 has round.

the AFM bolts onto the bottom of it... that is a square connection.. You will need to retain your existing AFM.

Why are you switching from an S4 airbox to an S5?

Well im running a K&N cone filter right now!! Im moving to Cali at the end of the month and need a stock airbox for emissions. I no longer have mine but I still have the S4 AFM. Hope that answers your question. Someone has a S5 airbox that I would like to buy!!

Good reason. Should be equally as easy if not easier to find an S4 airbox for cheap/free. Unfortunately, you'll probably need the S4 one, unless you want to fab something up to adapt the square hole to the round one... Unfortunately, there's not much room for modding if you want it to look stock for visual inspection.

The only problem I forsee with that is that it'll push his AFM back the thickness of the adapter/plate... Not sure how thick the plate is, but... there's not much room to push the intake piping back as it is since the entire thing was designed with the stock air-box in mind. IMO, I would just do it right and get the S4 box... It'll look clean, won't raise suspicion, and best of all... isn't a mickey-mouse solution.

If you have a cone filter then you already have the square to round adapter plate.

I didnt even think of that, I have to go look!! BRB

Ok, I see now but that bracket is like a 1/8 " thick with bolt heads making even more less space to work with. I will just get a S4 one to do it right.
