Stipped Oil cooler Bolt
This is what happened:
I replaced my leaking oem oil cooler lines with the SS ones from mazdatrix. I overtorqued the adapter bolt that goes into the engine blocked ..
now the adapter bolt goes into the block but does not tighten as much..I believe i am leaking some oil now from there..
I know im pretty much screwed but i thought I would ask you guys if there are any tricks to fixing this or atleast minimizing the oil leaking..
I have heard of tap and die but would rather go some other route...
perhaps wrap the tread in some sort of high teflon tape?
any advice is well appreciated

Front cover right?
I'd replace the front cover - this is the right way to do it, but it's also a lot of time and labor.
I doubt it you could've stripped the rear one, cause that's steel?

Yeah, there's some serious oil pressure going through there, so I dunno if any type of sealant is going to help.
The oil pressure can spike up to 100psi.
If anything, going with some kinda adapter so that you can tap out to the next size up and then mate with the existing adapter might work, but I bet the aluminum "boss" will be getting mighty thin...
Yeah, getting the front cover off is tedious.
You need to remove...
fan shroud, fan
water pump, water pump housing, belts
alternator
front e-shaft pulley bolt - gotta be careful with this one
pulleys
OMP
front edge of 10mm oil pan bolts underneath
Then the front cover and be removed.
