STILL idle problems-DAMMIT
ok so i got a used 87 n/a a while ago and i know that it was a fixer-uper. only cost me 800 bucks though
But i've tried fixing the idling screw on top of the throttle body with no luck. it just WILL NOT adjust the idle. and yes i've jumpered the lime green plug that you're supposed to jumper. i am so confuzed about this. so any help at all would be appriciated. and i just replaced the spark plug wires and that is NOT the problem. though the engine does run better now
but thanks again for all your help.

This url shows the screw on top http://www.rhichome.bnl.gov/People/s...rottlebody.jpg See the three blue hose one above the other? About an inch to the left of those hose is a throttle stop screw. In the picture you cannot define it as a screw. Look at your car and you will see it. Back that screw off until the throttle lever does not touch the bottom of the screw. Did the idle drop? I think there is something holding your throttle valves(butterflys) open and letting so much air in that the screw on top cannot have any effect. Whatever it is needs to be corrected before the screw on top will have an effect. I strongly urge you to download the factory manual from http://www.iluvmyrx7.com and then go to section 4A and the section that deals with the throttle body. It tells one how to rig the valves in the throttle body. Another thing that it might be is the DASHPOT being screwed in too far keeping the valves open too far. It also could be a vaccum line off. Tons of stuff. Start with the section 4A. With the car warm and idling press the throttle lever on the engine towards the close position. Did the idle drop?
