so i replaced the PD w/banjo bolt AND replaced the rubber grommets for the injectors and tighted the UIM tight but still smell gas where can i check next?
is the hose coming out of the charcoal canister suppose to connected to something? because mine just vents right to the bottom
also there is another hose from the passenger side near the bottom that is not connected, where does that go?

I had a split on the rubber line that feeds the fuel filter on the frame from the hard fuel lines. Drove me nuts for a few months. I would check that....it's covered up and didn't notice it until I replaced the fuel filter in vain attempts to fix the fuel smell.

i should also add that i only smell it when i'm accelerating or under boost so it can't be the fuel lines right? or else i would smell it ALL the time
also one of my OMP lines is cracked right where it's suppose to connect to the nipple
can this be the cause of the smell or bad idle? and does anyone know where the hoses go?

I lost an engine partially due to a line not being connected to a oil injector (unknown to me at the time). There are four oil injectors, check pg 70 of your Haynes manual to yelp find the nipples.

As far as the fuel smell goes, go ahead and replace the fuel lines (8mm size I think) and you might also replace the injector o-rings as well. Check the injector bosses on the fuel rails to make sure that the surfaces are clean and smooth, no scratches or anything. I once had an '89 fuel rail that had corrosion that looked like it could have caused a sealing problem, so I replaced it. Also might check the o-ring on the fuel pressure regulator. And make sure your hose clamps are tight enough to do their job, you might replace them as well.

One thing you can do to check for a fuel system leak is to pressurize the system with the engine off. Turn the ignition on (but don't start the engine), and jumper the fuel pump test connector (I think it's along the passenger's side of the engine bay, and a yellow two prong connector, but it's been a while since I've poked with it). This will turn the fuel pump on, pressurizing the system. If you have a leaking fuel line, or leaking injector o-ring, this will make it easy to find it.
