Steering whell removal?

OK I want to replace my steering wheel with the one off of my parts car because that one is in good condition unlike mine. I know how to take the one that my 87sport has on it(the two spoke one) but the parts car an 88 GXL has a tri-spoke design and I do not know how to remove it. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

THIS FORUM IS BOTHERING ME.... i have posted on this thread twice and nothing....
ok simple and to the point (sorry)
3 screws behind centerpiece.... un screw them and take centepiece off.. unbolt the nut ( i forget what size)
then pull/tug/pry it off... there is prolly a better way ... but thatz the way i did it...
i took mine off a 1990 n/a but its the same wheel..

FOR NON-AIRBAG FCs:

Remove the screws for the center steering wheel cover (one screw, accessed from the gauges side of the wheel, on each spoke for most of the wheels).

Pop the cover off, unplugging the horn trigger wire.

Remove the steering wheel nut.

Wiggle or pull back suddenly very hard (some people recommend leaving the steering wheel nut on a couple of threads so when the wheel pops loose from you jerking it back suddenly, you don't hit yourself).

It will take a couple couple of really hard jerk backs if the spline is a little rusted.

Once removed, put a little anti-seize on the splines and slide the new steering wheel on.

Tighten down the nut, plug the horn wire back on, and take for a test drive to make sure you got the wheel on straight.

If you get the new wheel installed too far off angle, the power steering and turn signals might not work correctly. Re-installing the wheel into the correct position will solve the problem however.

Special discounted price - $16.99 typo hehe

I just wanted to know. That is pretty cheap but I guess I could wing it and do the hard yank. I woud be spending $15 for a one or two time use tool.

Not everyone finds It relevant to buy a Steering Wheel Puller for perhaps a one time use In their life.

I needed my wheel off and found It pefectly fine to get It off from pulling one side to another. Fini!

I really hate my S5's steering wheel. So big, so skinny. Why?

This post should come in handy soon, cause come the spring I'm gonna want to rip it out of there as soon as my car sees daylight.

Good luck with your wheel, give it Hell because it sucks.

What kind of wheel were you planning on getting bro? I've got the Momo Millenium and It's heavy. Wouldn't trade It for anything else available.

Sparco 330mm can't remember the model, just plain black suede.

Possibly the MOMO Power model, also 330mm.

I didn't see a Millenium on the MOMO site, I'll go take a look.

Seems like everytime you chime in I learn about a new part on your car. When will it end?

I've performed a self diagnosis evaluation on myself and concluded that I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder, In relation to my car. Tons of stuff added from our last meet.

You may not like the 330mm wheel. Unless you like the feeling of driving a go cart on the streets. My Momo was offered In both 320 and 350mm. I opted for the latter, which Is great. Although It covers the top half of the stock gauges.

Let me see about the Momo Millenium site...

Funky looking wheel, I like how it looks like it's split into chunks. Wouldn't suit my white car though. Must compliment your silver FC though, esp. with the chromed badges.

As far as size goes, I would like bigger dia. but most seem to be offered in 300 and 330, I only recall a few 350's. I'm going to look into it in depth though, what's listed isn't always necessarily what's actually available.

Yea, silver Is the theme. I have the Momo Tomahawk shift ****, Macedonian emblem/coin along with the Gauge Panel that 1fast2 Is letting off which accentuate the all Black Interior.

As for the wheel on your White FC, I think It would look great but you have Blue Interior, I think...okay It's a toss up.
