steering wheel 5 beep question

i was wondering if the plastic piece that has the 2 prongs on them were turned, and i dont know how many times it has been, will that matter as long as i can still line the steering wheel straight.

well, i'm not sure, but your 5-beep is the steering alignment.. i'm sure you know since your ? is about fixing it. try it out and see if it stops the beeping.

Generally the 5-beeps is a mis aligned steering wheel. Did you remove your steering wheel lately?

yeah i know what it means, i changed my steering wheel cuz im too tall for my car and aftermarket ones are smaller so that = more leg room, but my question is that i turned the plastic piece that would make it unaligned several times and i dont know if the piece has to be at a certain place or does the sensor tell from when you are driving cuz it always stops when i try to fix it

There are 2 arrow looking markers that need to be lined up, prior to mounting the steering wheel. According to the book it is used for the blinker turn-off circuit and the steering angle sensor.

Won't matter how many times you turn it, as long as you're not 180 degrees off. Prongs should be vertical with arrow to the left, IIRC.

Make sure the steering wheel hub is actually turning the plastic prong deal in sync. with the wheel. Maybe you're aligning it and then crushing the prongs or the holes in the hub aren't being penetrated by the prongs. (ha ha I said penetrated)
