Steering fights back. Don't know why.

I have turbo 2 for over 10 years now. The issue i always have is that steering wheel always fights me. I never in the past i had a rx7 with so much steering input. This is my suspension setup,

Ksport coilovers
All the bushings are done from front to rear.Rack rebuildBalljoin doneMazda trix bumpsteer kit.
all alightment done and toe in in the front a little.
Rear steer delete.
1 degrees of camber up front, idk out back

Yes i do have the power steering deleted and for the most parts drives straight but seems excessive sometime how much i have to keep the steering wheel hold from ethier one side or the other. The tires are wearing normal i can't see any adnormal wear on them. Any ideas of what i should look for? Maybe I'm just missing out on something.

I appreciate the input

Eddie

To clarify, are you saying the car requires lots of steering input to keep it driving straight? As in, turning the wheel left and right constantly to keep the car in a straight line?

I forgot to mention that i have a 27mm front swaybar (came with the car when i got it) and none on the rear wich i remove it because the car got unstable on bumpy roads once i put the 17s. Just feel like im driving with side wind all the time. It will do it weather is left or right, i though i had the coil over loose since it happened to me in the past and is not. I added the bumpsteer kit and cure it a little but still there and alightment, ball joins, inner tierods all done too. Is so should drive straight without issues. Just when i get a slight, uneven road i have to fight the steering wheel. I'm been slowly changing stuff and seems to do very little. Like i said i may be overlooking something.

Did you adjust the preload?

Just below where the ps lines meet the rack, there's a big lock ring around a smaller nut cast into a plug. If you loosen the lock ring you can adjust preload on the rack using the nut. Too little preload will cause the steering to be loose (which sounds like what you're describing), too much causes it to be harder to turn and wears the rack prematurely.

Try loosening the lock ring and adjusting to the spec in the FSM. Then tighten the lock ring and go for a drive. From there you can decide if you need it looser or tighter and adjust accordingly.

Just an idea, hopefully that fixes the problem. Good luck, and don't forget to tighten the lock ring back down after adjusting.

Since we're on the topic of preload, was yours adjusted?

I have (at least temporarily) a depowered 15.4:1 rack and it's not too bad to turn even when still. Once I'm moving a little it's fine.

That was my first thought, And it seemed to be dead on, if not maybe a touch loose.

That said the cars been on jackstands for a year yesterday so, you know, the good memories are giving way to sour ones lol
