Steelies?

Looking to get some 15" steelies for the FC for snow/winter tires...

Does anyone have steelies on their FC? Where did you get them?
Preferably I'd like to get them off a scrap car.

I know we share bolt patterns with a lot of hondas, that being the case there should be plenty of steelies around if you can get them to fit with some hubcentric rings. I haven't done this, just a suggestion. gl.

Did Mustangs come with steelies on 5 lug? I have a set of Mustang GT wheels, but they're even worse in the snow, seeing as they've got R-Compound Toyo Proxies RA-1s on them.

Because stocks have Summer tread Falkens on them. Dismounting, remounting, and balancing tires costs money. If I keep a set of steelies, then I just keep snow tires on them and leave them in the shed for the Summer.

Additionally, I can drive smart. I took the RX-7 out yesterday as well as my 2wd Toyota pickup... It's all the other idiots I have to dodge that I'm worried about.

If I have to eat a curb, I'd rather do that in steelies than stock aluminums. The steel will bend and take some of the shock away from the control arms and suspension...

Steel or aluminum, the first thing to bend is likely to be the steering links. Find a crappy set of stock aluminum rims to use for winter, and stay off the curbs.

So you're suggesting that I actually HIT the idiot in the Suburban that's heading directly towards me because they can't drive in the snow?

If you have a truck why are you worried about the 7? It's not like you can drive in over 1" of snow with the 7's ground clearance. Shouldn't you be looking for some mud tires for the truck? Do you really need to drive in the snow? The street are unplowed for less then 24hrs after a big snow...chill out and watch a movie.

I drive the 7 out and about looking for parking lots to do donuts in. Besides, it took them until this afternoon to get to my street.

Some FC's had steelies from the dealer. Good luck. They're shitty and rare.
