Stationary Gears

Hello Everyone , I am new to the forum my name is Gilbert & I live in Florida . How much of a diffrence is between a s5 and 3rd gen stationary gears beside the set screw that lock the bearing ? Hardening wise the reason I ask is because I am currently putting a 13bt S5 together and I find the 3rd gen to b better designed this motor in going to be all out racing, I really appreciate everyones opinion . Thanks in advance

Gilbert

FD stat gears are truly hardened.
The Kouki FC stat gear just have some kinda "ion" coating on them.
Yes, the FD set is better.
Plus, you get that nice 9-hole bearing...

Thank you for your input Ted, what do you think about the renesis high power stationarys , I know if I was to go with those I would have to use the renesis E-shaft do to the bearing size or are they the same size ? and I would need to get the rotating assembly but this is in the back of my mind and cant get it out what you think ?

I wouldn't use any of that RX-8 crap on a turbo motor.
The whole car wasn't designed for turbos, so keep it away from forced induction.

Actually the shaft and gears are said to be stronger than the 3rd gen stuff, as the engine was structurally set up to run in excess of 10krpm. It doesnt have to do with being boosted or not. Renesis engines are not faring well with boost due to high compression and side exhaust ports, not the shaft/gears/bearings.

Now, does the FC need this stuff? Probably not...especially since the ecu limits rpm to 8100 or so in all but the s5 nonturbo. If you have or can get the FD oil system (except for the oil pump) pretty cheap to use in your FC, then go for it. IF you're faced with buying replacement FC eshaft/stat gears/bearings, ONLY then is it a reasonable idea to buy the rx-8 parts. Unless of course you are building some sort of track motor...

This is going to be a track motor standalone ecu at around 35 psi on meth and I want the best gears in it , not sure were the power will be at rpm wise until it dine and dyno , but I would say it might be above 8000

That being the case, here's what I would go with:

rx8 shaft, stat gears, bearings
FD front and rear oil pressure regulators
FC turbo oil pump (Fd one doesnt fit the front iron)
obviously clearanced, lightened, and dynamic balanced rotating assembly

Setup should be good for whatever you throw at it that way.

at that boost level, I'd say 8.5 s4 t2 rotors lightened/clearanced/balanced/bevelled, but I imagine he has his own thoughts on that.

This is what I've had in mind but I was trying on dealing away with the balancing , Dont know a good reputable place to use for the balancing .who do you use for balancing the rotating assembly?
