New owner - Hi!
Hi everyone.
I just traded my 72 Datsun 240 rolling chassis for a 91 S5 RX-7 white coupe.
This is my second RX-7, my last was a blue 87'.
The engine cranks freely, however it's completely compressing the coolant system, so i've pretty much written this engine off. It started and ran OK when I first brought it home (enough to go around the block) but was billowing smoke and as soon as I filled the coolant system, it just sits there compressing the water out of the surge tank.
No biggy, figured it'd need a motor anyway (and for the price it's a bargain). The body is straight, minus the front fender and part of the bumper due to some drunk damage from the previous owner. The interior is about a 7/10, shows some age but pretty decent nonetheless.
I'll post some pictures of it in a bit, i'm pretty psyched about it, I love FCs.
Now heres my question , is there any modifications I can do to parts of the N/A engine that will swap over to the Turbo-II engine when I buy it? My plan is to start bargain shopping for a decently low mileage T2 engine to throw into it, but wanted to get a head start on modding, I was wondering if there were any small mods I could do (throttle body porting, along those lines) to components that'll swap over.
Thanks a lot.

Oh I am going to do a T2 swap, no doubt about that -- really just looking for suggestions on things that perhaps would swap over, or maybe some mods I could do in the mean time.

well not really.
Your best bet is to start sourcing the TII parts.
You can start modifying the suspension, transmission (along with all the necessary parts to get it to work, like the starter, fly, clutch), drive shaft and rear end. I don't know what you can do to the NA motor/accessories that would help you with the TII motor.
