Starts then dies

i cant believe this!! i just started to get my car ready for emissions testings. It starts hits 3k then cuts out immediatly after hitting 3k. I can't seem to figure it out. if i step on the gas, it seems to keep it open. Also it got cold out here as well 50 farenheit if thats anything significant. I know this may be an easy fix but please help me out. thank you

Check the intake piping, and make sure all the emissions hoses and check valves and all that stuff is where it should be. The RX has issues running without it, so just go through one more time and check that all the hoses are on like they should be, and then try it again. Also, did you let the car warm up? (just throwing out ideas, sometimes its the simple stuff)

i checked the lines , hoses etc and still nothing all i did yesterday was bundle the under the steering wheel wiring together better because it was hanging down. and moved the air intake filter so it wasnt sitting on the floor of the engine. like i said before its starting then firing then dies not even instantly unless i have the gas depressed. it refuses to idle at all. ive run out of ideas to fix it

Fixxxed it

ok i rechecked the hoses and not to the intake manifold , but the hoses on the intake filter and discovered my problem. The previous owner had lost one of the two hoses going from the filter to the manifold and replaced it with what can only be described as ghetto rubber hose that couldnt even be used for a garden hose.
the heat from the engine had shrunk it to the point, it popped off of the engine end, and that was making my ecu to air intake sensors go awry. I went down to the garage and got some heater hose cut it and screw clamped both ends. fired right up and idled like the sweet kitten it is. time to celebrate
