starting/starter problems after major upgrades

okay so i just got my 87 turbo II back together, and i can't get it to start. when i turn the key it half cranks over and at the same time the starter clicks.. now the starter never did this before, and i just did a battery relocation, so thats the first place i'm going to look. what could cause the starter to do that? also i don't have any of the stock grounds from the negative cable in at the moment. and there are no emmisions, or bac atm.

fresh battery, and the cables may have been a little loose. would that have a pronounced effect on starting?

got it figured out... i was thinking that maybe the distribution block i used was causing some resistence but turns out one of the gounds wasn't fully connected so there was alot of resistence in the motor... tightened it down and she fired right up!
