for some reason my 91 Conv. has been having a tough time starting lately. it starts fine when its cold on the 2nd try almost all the time but after that start in the morning it doesnt like to start again and i have to crank it over for around a minute sometimes while pushing the gas all the way in and letting it out over and over... sometimes it will begin to start and die before it gets to about 400 rpms and other times it will start fine. could the starter not be cranking the engine fast enough? i have no idea why sometimes it starts fine and others it doesnt. maybe bad ecu?

you could have low compression. that sounds like what my gsl-se used to do. it wont start on the second time because it probably floods.
