starting issues, won't spark when cranking

I live in a different town from my girlfriend now. I have bought her an 86 2+2. she took it to a guy to have the tranny replaced since i couldn't do it. he got everything in and all was well. he said it started several times and ran fine, just like it did when he got it.
But when he says he was taking it out for a real test drive to make sure everything was okay. it quit. after much testing all he can tell me is when he is cranking there is no park. when he stops cranking, and turns the key to the "ON" possision it will spark once. like it is discharging a saved spark or something. I have no idea. I haven't had a chance to look at the car yet since he has touched it. I am going up there this weekend to try and fix it. though I will be very short on time.
I was hoping anyone would have some vague idea what this could be. he has already been by my house and pulle the coils from my parts car. possibly other things too. and still it won't work.

Check all your fuses, specifically the EGI fuses.

He says he did that, Could it be the crank angle sensor? He cam by and pulled the leading coil from my parts car, it didn't help.

All fuses are good. could it be the crank angle sensor? or the computer? Neither the leading or trailing have spark.

Probably a fuse (honestly, Ive seen too many people say "fuses are good" then 4 days later in their post say "it was a fuse!"). But make sure the connectors for the CAS and boost sensor are on there good.

What the hell is a CAS sensor? why would the conection for the boost sensor stop the spark? I pulled every fuse and visually inspected it. There aren't any fuses in the block under the dash that could cause this right? I did inpect the "Engine" fuse under there though.
It stopped working when this guy swapped the tranny. is there anything he could have accidentally done to cause this? like break a wire. I didn't think there was anything under there associated with ignition. but then again I have never changed an auto tranny on these cars before, only the manuals.
I really only have today and tomorrow to fix this. I live im Memphis and the car is in Springfield MO.

He could have flooded it. How did he verify there was no spark?

What the hell is a CAS sensor?
could it be the crank angle sensor?
And the boost sensor has nothing to do with fuel really, but everything to do with spark. Use a DMM to test for continuity if the fuse looks ok visually.

I verified there was no spark by taking a new sparh plug and grounding it to the negitive terminal on the battery. he and I both used a spark tester where you connect on terminal the the spark plug wire and the other to ground. both testes failed.

Does the tach bounce while cranking? Easy way to tell if the trailing coil is getting power.

Well after just playing with it, I can get spark sometimeson the leading coil. I haven't really tryed the trailing.
I haven't been able to figure out why or when. there doesn't seem to be a pattern. I noticed a slight cliking noise from the leading coil when I get a spark. then I killed the battery, so I am going back with another.
"Does the tach bounce while cranking? Easy way to tell if the trailing coil is getting power."
is it supposed to? None of my other 7s do it.

if you have a spare CAS you can hook it up and spin the bottom if it to check the spark too

Crank Angle Sensor. its the thing that senses the crank angle, or where the engine is, and sends a signal to the ECU, which then tells the coils when to spark.(or something like that)

Okay, I have changed the coils, the CAS, the ECU, the CPU, the spark plugs and wires, and every fuse. Still I only get spark when I stop cranking and the key goes back to the "ON" position.
No one I have talked to has ever seen this before. does anyone have any ideas that might help?

huh......than you need to recheck everything over again. Check the fuse in the engine bay as well as under the front dash. Make sure your ignitors are grounded.
