starting issues
starting issues
Ok, i have been having issues with starting the car when its still warm. It starts up like a champ in the morining but if i turn it off and leave it for 10-20 min, it just wont do a damn thing. Now that its getting colder, I can start it up after a couple hours( I havent tried any sooner to save my self from embarrassment).
Ok I have been told on here that my compression is probably going bad.
I can believe that, and it is due for a rebuild. But, since Christmas is coming my rebuild funds are hitting an all time low, so I got to thinking.
Would it be possible if for some reason my fuel line is getting heated up and vaporizing the gas, causing it to be a bitch to start up when warm?
Feedback much appreciated.
Thanks,
Zane

I know it's tough to give in to the problem being an engine that is tired and due for rebuild, no one wants to have to spend the money. However, you can't be in denial about it either. If you have a compression tester, get the numbers, then you can find out for sure. If you don't have one, go and spend the $30, its a good tool to have, and you will likely use it more than once. If you keep spending time and money on other little fixes that you are just hoping will be the cause, it will do nothing if the engine is not making good compression. Plus thats less money toward a rebuild, if in fact it's what you need/want.
Don't be afraid man, just get the numbers! =)
BTW, I don't think that fuel line theory is too realistic. It might not be a bad idea to replace crusty old 15+ year old lines, but I'm not sure that would be the most likely culprit here.

You have leaking injectors or poor compression (or both)
And bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen tech section. Your bump has been deleted.
