Starting Issue.....starts but struggles

Starting Issue.....starts but struggles

Hi, k heres the deal. Its a rebuilt engine, about 1700km on it. The turbo i was running blew, so i replaced it. In doing so i did a crappy sealing job on the seal between the manifold and the exhuast inlet side on the turbo. Im ripping it apart and doing it properly, but for now...would an exhuast leak cause bad starts? I mean it starts but it has to crank and crank then it catches once, then crank then it catches and fires up. It seems to only do it the first start of the day. Once its warmed up it starts fairly well. This is really annoying, could a tps throw it off? Timing? Anyone know what the timing advance is on warm up and during idle? Thx in advance guys.

I have about three exhaust leaks on an 91 n/a im fixing all of them this weekend. i have a little trouble starting to. But after it gets warm its fine. Ill let u know what happens after all of them are fixed.

alright will do...thx, o and is there a special gasket needed between the down pipe and the turbo. I used a normal 3 inch gasket and im pretty sure thats where its leakin from.
