If you want 300 WHP, start with your Power FC. It is the backbone to all of your power upgrades. Again with the horse analogies, if you break its back, you might as well take it out back and shoot it. Once you have the ECU done you can gather parts, install them all at once, and head to your local (or not so local) tuner to make it easier and cheaper. You can put smaller, supporting modifications on it as you go as long as they don't change the power performance of the engine. Because you are doing this slowly you will not see big power gains for a couple years, but that is better than trying to go for power cheaply and losing a motor AND your daily driver.

DO NOT upgrade your turbo first. That should be closer to the last thing you want to replace as long as your current one is in decent condition.

Update: I went crazy and bought a few items in a for sale thread, and just got them in the mail.

Megasquirt 2 v3 with DIY
bnr stage 3 turbo
Electronic boost controller
Wideband
2 1700 cc injectors?
cheap FMIC

My clutch fan is starting to go out, and I'm losing coolant from somewhere below the radiator, close to the front right wheel. Also, idle and hot-start issues meaning bad grounds?

I'm going to use Aaron Cake's ground cleaning walk thru for the whole car, next I guess new rad hoses? While I'm at it I wonder if I should do an e fan to replace the clutch fan since I'll do the intercooler at some point?

After the electrical system and cooling system is fine I guess I'll tackle the MS and add on from there, adjusting the tune as I go along?

Any advice is welcome.
Thanks
