starting car hassles

Is there somethin wrong with my car or is it normal for everyone???

Problem> In the mornings it takes about 4 turns of the key trying to start the car then i have to sit for 10-12mins waiting for the car to warm up and get to normal idle..does everyone have to do this or is it just me?? and when im sitting at the lights the car idles at 600 drops sometimes to 500.. can someone pls help any ideas.
Pls tell me your start up procedure for your FC's if ya have one

not normal... Idle should be at 2500-3000 for the first 30 seconds, then 1500-1200 until warm where then idle should be 650-700 on a manual tranny car.

what engine modifications have been made???

and when were the spark plugs and spark plug cables replaced?

My car does exactly that but it takes 10-12mins to get to normal idle even a bit longer otherwise it stalls on me. I'm prepared to wait 10-12mins and have been doing it ever since i got the car so i dont damage the motor.
But after the car is warmed up it seems to idle at 500-600 sitting at lights and so on, should i get my idle adjusted or a simple tuneup.
And as for turning the key 4 times to start it is that normal?? My battery is pretty old and will be replaced sooner or later, could that be part of the reason for the car taking 4 cranks to start it?

yeah, same thing happens to me exactly. i'm not sure if you mean that it revs up and dies everytime you crank it, but that's what i'm talking about. my plugs and wires were replaced not that long ago too.

From: Kissimmee Fl,
mine was hard to start when it was cold and backfired alot i also had the low idle and to fix that i adjusted the idle adjustment screw thats right after the throttle body(on top of engine) and that fixed my low idle problem. a mechanic told me the bad starting problem was that my BAC was bad but i never got around to changing it. so you mite wanna check ur BAC

Sounds like a faulty or dirty thermal wax unit on the TB if it wont drop idle RPM down. On baby dolls GTU with a moded TB idleing at 900rpm it takes around 10min to warm up.

RX7SERIESV - It is very hard starting in the morning. Try looking for coolant seal leak by fuel smell in RAD/over flow bottle or coolant compresion tester. As well leaky injectors need to be cleand. These are symptoms of flooding.

rx7ryan - check your MAF and for VAC leaks.

I dont know if the BACV will cause starting issues. As I am aware it pumps more air into car to keep it runing under loads such as A/C and PS. It may be used for AWS but I do not recal someone will awnser it though.
