I have the wiring diagram from the haynes manual, but i can't read these things. I have a 89 GXL and on my starter i have 5 wires coming from it and need to know where each of them go, can anyone help me out? Many thanks

 

5 wires? My '88 SE has the battery cable and the thin push-on wire going to the solenoid, and a very short, thick cable that goes from the solenoid into the starter. That's it. What are yor other wires like? Where do they connect at the starter/solenoid?

 

hmm. maybe i got something wrong... i'll get some pictures up tommorow to assist in what i'm looking at. thanks in advance
