Starter question

does anybody know how many wire are suppose to be connected to the postive terminal of the starter?

And does the ground wire go to the drivers side top bolt of the transmission.

I just got done replacing the clutch and when I put the starter back on I forgot to hook up the ground wire. The car started fine but the check engine light came on. I started the car about 5 times and then the tach stopped working. I noticed that the ground wire wasn't on and when I went to try and start it, and nothing happened. Why would it start 5 times and then quit.?

I forgot too when I put my motor back in. I have a picture if you want to use it as a reference.

do you have any idea why the car started before and the tach didn't work.

The tach works off the trailing coil if I remember correctly.

You got the wires hooked up like in the pic? You shouldn't need special tools. Make sure the connection is tight, and the battery is charged.
