Starter Prob.
My car just started acting up again. It is barely starting. It will turn over very slowly. It seems that the only way it will start, is if I hit the fuel cut switch. I have a new battery and alt. I took it to autozone and all tested out fine. Is there anything else I should check. Oh yeah my indash tach didn't work this mourning, and now it is working. My tach that is hooked to the coil works fine. WTF is going on. I think its the starter, but how can I test it?

From your description it sounds like your starter brushes are worn.Cost about $8.00 Can from your local Mazda dealer-Part no N326-18-X66(N/A and TII are same part, for A/T part is N327-18-X10).Pull your starter, take off rear cover, check brushes replace if necessary.20 min job.

YAY Cheap and easy. Thats what I like to hear. Ill take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks six rotors!!! I hope thats all it is. I asked autozone if they had something like that and they said, "no just buy a rebuilt one". Bastards are trying to take my money.

I guess the brushes are ok. Is there any other things that I can replace? I want to rebuild it myself if at all possible.
Does anyone have a starter for sale?
