Very nice time, but it isn't the "fastest least modded". Jeff Hurst was running 12's 4 yrs ago with his FC still wearing the stock cats. Do a search, it has been discussed on the Forum before. Jeff was well known on the FC3S list when I was on it in 97-98.

Nice time for the mods anyway.

Jeff

my car was faster with a slipping clutch than with the ACT.

Basically it lets you stay in the powerband with boost up like the Automatic Supras.

I never realized it til he said that, what if you have a turbo timer (like me) and you get pulled over and the cops tell you to turn off the car? They probably won't understand what a turbo timer is. So what would you do? They might get pissed...

how does your car weigh so much without driver? You are about 150lbs heavier than most T2's..... do you have a wild stereo or what?

You have a/c delete as well? Can't figure out the weight.... doesn't add up.

Do you have a steel hood?

Um, I'm not familiar with the "Least Modded" racing class. Wouldn't a completely stock TII be "least modded"? Also, please tell me when and where the Least Modded World Championship race is going to be this year, as I would like to enter my "least modded" 88 SE.

the least modded thing was sorta a joke because i remember reading back a couple months ago about kaboski posting about his

..as for the weight issue, mine is an 89 and stock they weigh in over 3000lbs. (i have the aluminum hood) When i entered the track i did not take anything out of my car and ran it as is like i would on the street, school books and all (thats alot of weight when your takin 18 credit hours) lol

...thursday i will go to the track again but this time i will be prepared to run some serious times...im planning on doing some weight reduction removing tools, jacks, spare, books, passenger seat and adding some 100 octane gas...hopefully with all the stuff removed i will take a couple tenths of a sec off my time making it into the sub 13's

....suspension is stock and a bit soft and my tire choice is Kumho Escta Supra 215/55/16

....motor was rebuilt at 86,000 and is now pushing the 140,000 mark

....wish me luck

(just to let everyone know this car might possibly go on sale in the next couple weeks im looking at $4500 for it.....)

LoL nice try

I've broken 2 N/A trannys on my car recently
so I'm ditching the GXL and putting the engine in a TII
I just bought with a blown motor.

I heard the track here will be closed till Feb due to re-paving
once I get the TII running
I'll be running drag radials and should hit real low 13's to high 12's.

There will be no wieght reduction
and same mods as before

ported motor
full 3" exhaust
and my engine is not even half as nice and clean looking as yours
Just ask Little Donny

hey kabooski, I see your located in Orlando. Thats only an hour and a half from tampa and probaly an hour to Brandenton Motorsports track....Hmmm..BATTLE OF THE LEAST MODDED RX7 of Florida!!!!!! =)

The thing is, my car still has all the stock cats just a catback while your running a 3" all the way back if i were to run a dp im sure i can hit at least a 13.0 if not high 12's

why not get a 3" DP from mazdatrix?
it's like $115
and a high flow cat
or even a silencer to replace the cats?
I have to jank both my cars motors

need to change the NA flywheel and front counterwieght that is on the GXL's Turbo Motor for the Blown TII engine's ones
so it'll bolt on to the TII drivetrain again.

The good thing the blown engine came with a ACT clutch
so I don't need to spend another $300 for a HD clutch

I'll have to do a little more modding then what I got now
just for the engines sake

I need a double belt system since I got no air pump the belt tends to slip
so I'll be getting the RP pully set.
and I'll be also adding a electric fan.
which helps keep the water pump from cavetating.

once I get the car running
I'll be more then happy to attend a race event in Tampa
make sure to bring a digi cam, so you can take pictures of my tail lights
cause thats the only view your going to get
