starter not engaging

alright we just finished swapping a s5 TII on to a s4. but we used the s4 na trans and the starter doesnt seem to be engaging onto the flywheel. kinda hard to check since it is sealed and cant really see anything inside so cant really tell for sure if the teeth of the flywheel are splined with the flywheel, but im pretty sure its not. now for the question. do i need a s5 starter or a whole s5 transmission in order for this to work?

do you have some kind of conversion? Havent heard of S5 engine to S4 trans... Because if you want to do S5 TII to S5 N/A trans you need mazdatrix conversion or whole new S5 TII tranny. I know starters are different between the NA and turbo...
