starter issue

my starter drawing over 250amps. some guy at advance said it should be like 115 amps. the car is clickin as if it was the battery ,but the battery test out good. wonderin if that is to many amps being drawn off the battery. causing it to click makin it seem like is the battery.

there is some sorta mechanical resistance trying to keep it from spinning

high amps=mechanical resistance(problem)

low amps=electrical resistance(problem)

Same answer as above here. Most likely the BRUSHES in the starter are worn down to the nub. You can buy starter brushes cheaper than a new starter. They cost about thirty bucks at NAPA.

NOT difficult to replace. See the FSM, ENGINE ELECTRICAL for how to do so.

Getting a hammer and hitting the side of the starter a couple of times will most times jar the brushes enough to get a few starts out of it. But the new brushes.
