Starter engages before i hit "start" - HELP!
Ive been searching all over and i cant seem to find much...
Turn the car to the RUN position and the starter engages...turn it to START and it also engages. Ive tested the ignition switch (no shorts, etc), the starter cut off relay tested out good...what else can be causing this?
Its not a sticking starter because it starts turning before i even make it to the START, and it stops turing as soon as i turn the key OFF.
Thanks
JM

so your starter wire is reciveing power when you turn the key to ACC. on the inginition.. do you have any jimmy rigging done to the starter or the tranny harness.? and im assuming this is a MT, and not a AT car.?

sounds like the ignition switch has problems or you have some wires crossed with the trigger wire to the starter. Starter relay acting up? Can you get a hold of another ign. switch? Good luck.
