what side is the positive and negative side on the starter,and where does the black wire on the starter go i think i hooked up the wires wrong and i smelled something burning and the car will not start, by the way this is from a 88 gtu that i just put in a 87 t2 motor and trying to finish this project. thanks guys

Big thick wire goes on the solenoid...thin wire clips onto the spade connector.&nbsp The start grounds through it's metal case through the engine.
