Started on the first turn!

Well, I fired up my TII on the first try after reinstalling the engine. She did not have any problem starting Blew a nice cloud of smoke and warmed right on up!

Of course with it starting up on the first try there are problems.

It is only pulling 11" of HG at idle (750 RPM). And it has the slightest hessitations when accelerating. I can see my halmeter scanning back and forth and the pulsations in acceleration match the halmeter. Kinda weird. I am guess the car is trying to find the best mixture and my car is surging slightly. Weird. Probally related to my vacuum leak somewhere.

So what do you guys pull at idle? I know the streetporting is going to result in slightly low vacuum. But 11"? I am thinking the TID is not on snuggly.

But the idle is nice at 750 rpm and somewhat smooth.

The vac's low because the engine's not broken in yet. It should increase to 13-15 inHg @750 RPM over time. Oh, and the vacuum reading is taken after the TB. If you took it near the TID, it would read close to atmo all the time

Good luck, and have fun w/ it!

Wankel7, your Mod list looks very similar to my planned mod list (be complete in 3 months, or less) Have you ever timed your 1/4 MI. or been on the Dyno with that setup? I would love to know what your numbers are.
