Greetings all Rotary masterminds.. (and those that are just as new as me )

my starter is going out.. already got hooked up with one that works.. i was wondering.. if there is a DIY on here that i could look into.. i hear its pretty simple but i dont wanna take any chances.. im trying to be as carefull as possible with my newly found FC..

any help would be appreciated thanks

 

its pretty straight forward. you just gotta remember to unplug the battery.

 

It is pretty simple. You need to use an closed end wrench 12mm I believe, on the back side of one of the bolts to hold it otherwise it will just spin. Download the FSM from the stickies and that will help too. Buy yourself a Haynes manual too it helps every once in a while.

Remember, when in doubt, take pictures of the assembly BEFORE you disconnect it

 

87 base model.. 8k on a rebuild engine..
