Standard Quarter Mile

I have read of many sources that a series 5 n/a rx7 will run a 15.3 sec quarter mile but in a few places here it seems that they run like 16.5's etc. I was wondering what they tend to actually run on the quarter bog standard and non turbo (series 4 or 5) Thanx.

I know the TII was about 15.1 to 15.2 on the standing, so I HIGHLY doubt the N/A was 15.3.

14s is a doable number (at least from what I have seen), but it will require some modification.. Pretty much your standard mods.

itb's, bridgeport, ems, strip the interior, some other mods should make it a pretty fast car. N/A rotories are amazing when modded.

you'd need to do a lot of work to get it to the 15's in general. intake, exhuast, headers, no cat, fuel manage... might put you in the 15s.

N/As are slow thats just the way it is. that's exactly why i converted!

I had a mild street port, full exhaust and intake, pulleys and removed some weight in my S5 NA and i could pull a 15.1

If I went NA again I'd go with a bridged NA. I think that would be a blast to drive!!!

Stock though. They suck.

Both my 88 NA's ran 17's

Really?

Mine is running a consistent 15.3 - 15.8 on stock ports.

Hey, now I dont feel so bad about my times at the track. I could never seem to break the 16.8 mark on my 87 NA with nothing but a CAI. I've got an exaust, clutch and flywheel in the works so I'm hoping to break a into the 15's someday soon.

Yeah.. My 89 GTU ran low 15's consistantly..

It had a full racingbeat exhaust system, a cold air box with a K&N, an ACT H/D street strip clutch and an SAFC... thats it...

My TII ran 14.8 when i got it... I was not to impressed with it until i rebuild the motor and put a BNR on it!!!!!
